The 1933 Postal Atlas of China
(24/01/2013)

The Postal Atlas of China (61 x 71cm) re-printed in 1933 by the Directorate General of Posts in Nanjing, again in Chinese, English and French. The book includes one Index map and 29 provincial maps.

In particular, map No. 23 in the atlas is of Guangdong province. As it was not possible to include the entire Hainan island in the map, the island was printed in a separate place on the bottom left corner of the map, which does not feature Hoang Sa archipelago and Truong Sa archipelago, either”.

The map of Guangdong province (1:900000) in the 1919 Postal Atlas of China indicates that Hai Nan island is the southernmost fringe of China’s territory.
